Description

This 1923 Ford T-Bucket is the featured hot rod in a mystery novel, Hamburgers and Hot Rods. (An autographed copy of the novel will be included with the car.)  As the photos show, it’s an original modern street rod, rather than a stereotyped “Fad T” seen commonly.  No expense was spared in creating this exquisite top-show car.  It has fewer than 1,000 miles since the complete frame-off restoration.  It’s a multiple trophy-winner (including Best-in-Show) that can be driven anywhere for an exhilarating cruise on a summer day.  It’s appealing to the eye, as well as very quick to drive.
The turtle-deck Speedway body has glowing Corvette Dark Purple Metallic base coat / clear coat paint, and it’s mounted on a boxed custom frame that is polished and painted to match the body.
Boyd Coddington highly-polished billet aluminum wheels were created for this car by Boyd’s son, Greg.
California Custom Roadsters, Inc. fabricated the complete chrome frontend assembly with Wilwood disc brakes.
The distinctive interior was fashioned by Gonyo Upholstery using white glove leather from South America.
It has Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires – 315/35R17 on rear, 205/50R16 on front – they have a continuous 186-mph speed rating.
The Chevrolet 350 c.i.d. engine with hydraulic roller lifters has been professionally rebuilt and has been judged Best Engine in Show.
The Edelbrock dual quad Air-Gap intake manifold and two 500 cfm Thunder Series AVS carburetors have EnduraShine finish.
The exhaust exits through Sanderson Twister headers with polished silver ceramic coating.
The polished Powerglide transmission has a B & M shift kit and a Gennie shifter.
It has a Griffin aluminum radiator, MSD ignition, new Optima battery with shut-off switch, QA1 coil-over shocks on rear, a chrome mono-spring on front, and a Flaming River tilt steering wheel and column.
