1934 Mercedes Benz 380 Spezial Roadster COLLECTORS TAKE NOTE: This factory example of the exquisitely proportioned MB 380 Spezial Roadster LH (Lang Heck, denoting 'long tail" i.e., with rumble seat) is finished inTHREE coats of hand-rubbed Glasurit Chiffon White with lipstick red leather interior. Designed and engineered by internationally acclaimed H.T.Price, and built at the ACAC factory in 1980, it is extremely rare and highly sought after, and generally considered to be the most beautiful of the neo classics. It has the engine displacement of the original Mercedes, (3.8 litres) in a V6 configuration
with dual exhausts. It is equipped with power:..windows, brakes, steering and antenna, Kenwood stereo/with cassette, ice-cold a/c, (converted to 134) tilt wheel, automatic, cruise control, special suspension etc., twin spotlights w/attached rear view mirrors, real 'laced' wire wheels, etc., etc., and has rolled less than 28,000 miles from new, and just 4,000 miles since a no-expense-spared restoration by Rob Weger, a local Mercedes expert. Only 50 of these elegant motorcars were built, and only a hand full remained in the states, as most were purchased by royalty in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, etc., as they are always the first to invest in exclusive autos. It has been in two movies, three 'Gatsby' styled weddings (see pics) and four tv commercials, and was featured in the inaugural issue of "Wheels of Thunder " autographed by Ted Barret: first place winner, neo classics, at the Myrtle Beach "Run to the Sun" car show. Everything 'under the skin' is GM, so every thing mechanical is available at your GM dealer. It needs nothing. (cruise control is a bit quirky) Exterior trim is all stainless steel, or marine grade triple plated chrome. It is collector quality throughout, and guaranteed to draw onlookers in every parking lot, and strangers on the highway gawking and yelling questions. Strange (and often beautiful) women will ask to have their picture taken beside it (or in it, or on it) When you drive this 380SR, every traffic light or parking lot is an adventure. In near flawless condition, it can only appreciate in value, 'cause they ain't makin' no more. The last one I saw advertised (in the Robb Report) 4 or 5 years ago, If you like to keep a 'low profile', this ride is not for you.
