Here's your chance to own an original California car that is complete with zero rust and is 80% restored. The asking price is well below the amount of money that has been spent on restoring it to it's current state. The car had been stored in a garage from the late 1970's until I purchased it in 2014. I had the gas tank as well as the radiator cleaned and sealed. The carburetor, water pump, starter, starter and generator were all rebuilt. The head was removed, and machined. At this time the cylinders were honed and new pistons, rings, and connecting rod bearings were installed (.030 over). A new timing chain, crankshaft and camshaft sprockets were installed. All fuel lines were flushed and a new fuel pump and filter was installed. A new master brake cylinder was installed and all the brake lines were flushed. All four wheels received a complete brake overhaul with new wheel cylinders, hoses and liners. The emergency hand brake which on this model wraps around the drive shaft was given a new liner. I installed four new shock absorbers. The transmission and differential were drained and refilled with the correct fluid. New front motor mounts were installed. The steering box received new fluid. New sparkplugs, wires, coil, rotor, voltage regulator and starter solenoid were installed. New heater and radiator hoses were installed. The entire floor of the car including the trunk was cleaned , treated with rust preventative and covered with sound and heat insulation. The entire car was rewired with original factory wiring. All the original gauges on the dash except for the temp gauge (I installed an under the dash new temp gauge) are working. The radio and clock were restored and both work. The rear view mirror was also restored. The car has four new tires. The driver side door has a new door gasket with additional gasket material for the passenger side also. I have new gasket material for the trunk but it hasn't been installed. I have a cowl vent gasket which I have not installed. I also have a spotlight that was mounted on the driver's side that I have not reinstalled. I replaced the fog light lens and bulbs and they both work. The car comes with a lot of extra parts and pieces that was in the trunk when I bought it. I'm sure there are more items I've replaced that I'm forgetting.
The paint is original and has that patina that is now very desirable.
The car does need a new convertible top.
The car runs and is drivable.
