This beautiful 1938 HackerCraft 22' twin cockpit Mahogany boat is in outstanding condition and has a very deep and unique history. This boat was designed in 1938 by Mr. Hacker for the Edward Kerr family, the Michigan supplier of the stainless and chrome hardware on Hacker boats. The design itself is truly unique; at 22 feet in length, it is configured as a twin-cockpit, not triple as would be typical at this length. Due to unknown circumstances, the hull of this unique boat was constructed but never completed and sat in storage in a Michigan barn until 1989. The bare wood, unfinished boat was then finished out, with the addition of a modern-day 350 cubic inch Commander engine for power and reliability and put into service. It has been completely refinished again since then and is presented in exceptionally good cosmetic and mechanical condition today. With its unique 'gentleman's racer' twin cockpit design, this HackerCraft sits low in the water and runs at speeds of up to 50 MPH. With its custom built trailer, this museum piece is ready to go.
